Abax Ointment is indicated as an adjuvant in rebalancing the skin in case of:

• skin eczema
• dermatitis
• skin irritation and superficial abrasions

Abax Ointment contains Tea Tree Oil, Chlorhexidine, Triticum Vulgare germ Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E.

Tea Tree Oil, extracted from the Melaleuca alternifolia plant, can damage bacterial cell membranes thanks to its high content of terpenes, which are highly lipophilic molecules, leading to the leakage of ions and nucleic acids. It also interferes with the LPS-induced synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines and prostaglandins. It can also alter the permeability of the cell and mitochondrial membranes of fungal cells. Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic able to bind to the phosphoproteins of the bacterial wall and penetrate the cell, leading to the leakage of cytoplasmic material. Triticum Vulgare germ oil is known for its regenerative, eudermic and antioxidant properties. Jojoba Oil stimulates the activity of fibroblasts and keratinocytes through the activation of the p38, ERK1-2 and PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathways. It can also stimulate collagen synthesis. Moreover, it reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins and pro-inflammatory cytokines in several experimental models. Vitamin E contributes to the skin repair process and modulates inflammatory mediators. In addition, thanks to its antioxidant function, it counteracts the harmful action of free radicals on the skin, slowing down cell ageing and the appearance of wrinkles and dry skin.

Apply the required amount of ointment, repeating several times a day if necessary until the skin has fully normalized. The residual film of product helps provide protection over time. The cannula provided can be fitted to the tube for precise and effective application, even in difficult areas (for example the scalp and external genitals).
