Information about the cookies used by the Sanitpharma website.
What are cookies
A “cookie” is a small text file that a website stores on the user’s device when they visit it, and reads again on later visits. It works as a reminder of the page visited: it lets the website remember, for example, that the user has logged in or has added products to the cart. While browsing, the user may also receive cookies from other websites (“third-party” cookies), set directly by the operators of those websites and used for the purposes and in the ways they define.
Depending on how long they last, cookies are either session cookies (temporary, deleted automatically when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (kept on the device until they expire or the user deletes them).
Depending on their function and purpose, cookies are either technical cookies or profiling cookies.
Technical cookies
Technical cookies make the website work: for example, they allow users to log in to their account, keep the contents of the cart and keep browsing secure. Under Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Privacy Code), they can be used without the user’s consent.
Statistical tools used directly by the website operator, in aggregate form and without any way of identifying the user, are treated in the same way as technical cookies.
Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are used to track users while they browse and to study their habits and interests, for example to show personalised advertising. They can only be used with the user’s prior consent, as required by Article 122 of the Privacy Code and by the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021.
The website www.sanitpharma.com does not use profiling cookies.
Cookies used by our website
Sanitpharma technical cookies
- PHPSESSID – session cookie that keeps the browsing session, the login to the customer area and the contents of the cart. It contains no personal data and expires at the end of the session or, at the latest, after a limited period of inactivity.
- cookieyes-consent – stores the user’s cookie consent choices, set by the CookieYes consent management service (CookieYes Limited); lasts 1 year.
Visit statistics
To find out which pages are visited most, the website uses its own statistics system, which sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses. Each visit is counted anonymously and in aggregate form, through an identifier that is regenerated every day and cannot be used to recognise the user.
Third-party analytics cookies (with consent)
Only if the user gives consent through the cookie banner, the website uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd), loaded through Google Tag Manager, to collect statistics on how the website is used: pages visited, where visits come from, device used and purchases completed in the shop (products, amounts, shipping costs and discount codes). The data are processed by Google, which may transfer them to the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- _ga – distinguishes visitors; lasts 2 years.
- _ga_1VSFFKFHP5 – keeps the session state; lasts 2 years.
Consent can be refused or withdrawn at any time from the cookie banner settings; in that case Google Analytics is not loaded. Google’s privacy policy, Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Third-party services
Some features of the website rely on external services, which may set their own cookies in accordance with their own policies. These cookies are not under Sanitpharma’s control.
- Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd) – interactive map on the “Pharmacies” page, loaded only on that page. Google’s policy.
- PayPal (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A.) – payment of orders; PayPal cookies are only set when the user proceeds to payment. PayPal’s policy.
Links to social networks
The LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram icons on the website are plain links: they load no content from the social networks and set no cookies. Social networks can only set cookies when the user visits their pages, in accordance with their own policies:
- LinkedIn – cookie policy
- Facebook – cookie policy
- Instagram – cookie policy
Managing cookies
Users can manage cookies through their browser settings, which allow them to delete cookies (all or some) and to block them or limit them to specific websites. If technical cookies are disabled, some features of the website, such as logging in and the cart, may not work.
Instructions for the main browsers: Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari.
